The JCCRI has been part of the fabric of Rhode Island Jewish life since the 1940's. It has been a welcome center for the Jewish community and non-Jews alike. In 1971 the Elmgrove Ave. facility was completed.
The mission of the Jewish Community Center of Rhode Island is to strengthen Jewish identity, family life, community, and the connection between the local Jewish community and Israel. The JCCRI provides for the social, cultural, educational, recreational and health-related needs of the Jewish Community.
With commitment to Jewish tradition, the JCCRI provides a common meeting place for all Jewish individuals and groups, and welcomes the general community to join and participate in its activities.
