General Camp Information
Great Facilities - Campers utilize the great facilities of the JCCRI, including a gymnasium and indoor pool. Air-conditioned spaces include: art studio, auditorium with stage, teen lounge, kitchen, and computer room. We also have a nearby playground, grassy fields, and tennis courts.
Registration Fee - Payment of a one-time, non-refundable registration fee is required for each child registered. Member rate: $35; Non-member rate: $50.
Refunds - No refunds will be made for absences or withdrawal from camp.
Payment - Full payment is required on or before June 6, 2008.
Sibling discount - A 10% sibling discount is available when you register both children for the same weeks of camp. Discount will apply to the total cost of the weeks. Does not apply to Early Childhood camp programs.
Financial Assistance - Financial assistance forms are available at the JCCRI front desk. In order to be eligible for financial assistance, your completed registration form must accompany your financial aid application. Deadline for applying for assistance is Wednesday, April 5th.
Camper Information Package - After we receive your complete registration and deposit, we will send an information package containing a confirmation and welcome letter, parent manual, emergency forms, and health forms which requires a doctor's signature. All forms must be returned to the camp office by Friday, June 6th.
AM/PM Pick-up & Drop-off - Early Arrival is 8am to 9am, and Extended Day is 4pm to 6pm. Both are available each day. See fees on the registration form. Early childhood camp dropoff and pickup are always at the early childhood entrance in the parking lot behind the JCC. Drop-off and pick-up locations for other camps will vary each week. See signs as you enter the building for locations. Special information for a particular camp will be mailed with your camp information packet.
Swim Program - Swim lessons are taught by our Red Cross-certified aquatics staff under the supervision of JCCRI Aquatics Director, Patty Gold. Campers will have both instructional and free swim unless otherwise noted in the camp description. Bring a bathing suit and towel daily.
Field Trips - Please review the week’s schedule in your camp information packet for details on field trip days and requirements. Field trips are included in the camp fee. All field trips will be in RI or MA. Field trip locations may include: water parks, beaches, Douglas State Park, Uxbridge State Park, mini-golf facilities, RI Rock Gym, Lincoln Woods, Southwick Zoo, Davis Farm, Camp JORI, Yawgoo Valley, and more.
Events and Overnights - Special evening events including pizza parties, movie night, and overnights are not an official part of camp and are subject to additional charges. You will find information about these in your camp information packet.
Camp Communication - A camp flyer and newsletter will be sent home each week of camp. Parents are encouraged to direct questions to the counselors, camp director or any camp staff.
T-shirt/ Camper Photos - Each camper will receive one Camp T-shirt when starting camp at the J which must be worn on field trip days. Additional T-shirts will be available for purchase at a cost of $12 each. Group photos will be taken and distributed each week. Individual pictures will be available for sale at the end of each week (Photo program does not apply to Early Childhood camps).
Lunch and Snacks - Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks except on cookout days (noted in the camp descriptions). Food must be vegetarian or dairy. Please see the suggestion list in the parent manual. Water coolers with ice water will be available in every room at the JCC, the outdoor fields and during field trips. The JCC also has water fountains on each floor near the rooms used by camp.
