CIT Program for Grades 8 - 10
Do you want to be a counselor?
Start by developing organizational skills and learning what you need to know to work with children and guide their behavior.
Pursuing our goal of creating new leaders, this fun and educational camp provides youth entering grades 8 - 10 an opportunity to interact with younger children attending J-Camp programs while developing leadership skills and experiencing personal growth. CITs will assist counselors in planning and leading games, activities, and workshops and assisting on field trips and workshops. In addition to learning basic care concepts, CITs will gain valuable practical life experiences.
Participants must complete and submit an application or contact Claudia Fiks, the J-Camp director (cfiks@jccri.org, 401-861-8800 x147) for more information. At the end of each week, CITs will attend an evaluation session adn take home a certificate of achievement and a reference letter.
Note: CITs do not participate in Trave Camp (Week 9).
CITs are asked to bring a dairy or vegetarian lunch and snack as well as a bathing suit and towel daily.
CIT weekly fee: $80
